Do you know why Yehoshua said He was the “WAY”? Well, the Hebrew word for “way” is derek, which refers to the path you are on, or the way you are going.

This is a word often used as a spiritual metaphor for how you live your life, because every choice we make is a path, or a derek that we take in our life. When you make good decisions, your path leads to good places. When you make bad decisions, your derek can lead to dangerous places. The good news is that whatever direction you decisions have taken you, YHVH can redirect you.

And when Yehoshua said He is “the way,” He was letting His kedoshim (set apart ones) know the He would walk ahead of us, showing us the way we should live. Every person who calls themselves a disciple of Yehoshua is called to follow in His footsteps and walk in His ways.

Interestingly, the first time derek is used the Scripture is during the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3:24, when Yehovah says the He will guard the ”way” back the tree of life. When Yehoshua said He is “the way and the truth and the life” He was saying that He is the way back to the tree of life – to fellowship and to eternal life with Yehovah for everyone who believes in Him!

We are told that Alef, Tav is the WAY to the Tree of Life.

Alef is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Tav is the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The first and the last letters in the Greek alphabet are Alpha and Omega. In Revelation 1:8 we are told that Messiah is the Alef and Tav or Alpha and Omega.

Rev 1:8  “I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, Beginning and End,” says יהוה “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

So, Messiah is the WAY to the TREE OF LIFE.

WHAT IS THE TREE OF LIFE?
The tree of life is the TORAH.

Proverbs 3:1 My son, forget not my torah; but let thine heart keep
my commandments:

Proverbs 3:18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon
her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

The Hebrew word TORAH is FEMININE. The Torah is a SHE. SHE (Torah) is a TREE OF LIFE. KEEPING THE COMMANDMENTS = TREE OF LIFE

Messiah said: John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that DO his COMMANDMENTS, that
they may have right to the TREE of LIFE, and may enter in through the
gates into the city.

OVERCOMERS ARE GIVEN THE TREE OF LIFE

Rev 2:7  “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I shall give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of Elohim.” Gen_2:9, Gen_3:22, Gen_3:24

Yisrael means "one who wrestles and overcomes". A TRUE Israelite
believes that Yehoshua is the Messiah and follows Torah. These are the
overcomers who are allowed to eat of the "tree of life".

TORAH IS THE WAY ("Derek")

Exodus 18:20 And thou shalt TEACH them ordinances and TORAH, and
shalt shew them the WAY wherein they must WALK, and the work that they
must do.
